OKC area O.G.& E. EDACS

I am having problems trunking the OG&E EDACS. I have entered the frequencies in the order listed in reference. I am using a Pro-95. I skipped location 00 before entering the first EDACS freq.

What am I doing wrong?

I had troubles the first time I tried trunking the OGE EDACS system. Basically, I went through and made sure my bank was set to EDACS. Then the channels (780XLT) and then if you haven't programmed any ID's in, then make sure you're in search mode. You might take another look at the user's manual again, and start over.

You might also give a better explanation of your problem. Is it stopping on the Control Channel when you're in scan mode? Does it actually trunk the system and you don't hear any activity or see any ID's show up?

Everything is set to EDACS. I do have some IDs programmed in but it is set in the open mode. When I go to the control channel manually it is receiving a strong signal, but when I scan it receives nothing.

Do you know for certain that anyone is talking on the system? Do you have another radio verified to work, monitoring the system? It could be as simple as 'no traffic'?

OGE rarely talks on their radios anymore, since dispatch is now handled via computers in the trucks. Most of what I hear east of OKC is mainly during storms.

I rechecked everything last night and discovered in the talk group section of WIN95 that I had not set them up correctly. This AM I overheard some traffic on the Moore system, but not the OKC system. I am going to set it up for the "storm" talkgroups and close it.
