Any one else notice the lack of traffic on the OKC DPS site?

Since 10:30, all I have heard is Moore PD trying to figure out what is wrong with the radios. And that traffic was on 866.925, the alterate control channel.

No OHP at all.

Control channel is still there on 867.750.

11:40 PM

Still no traffic on OKC DPS site.

I can hear Troop A Metro on the Carney site, so at least some of the system is working.

Hmmm

I was wondering about it myself as I just updated some frequencies and talk groups for Tulsa on my RS 95 - thought I had messed up my OKC bank. Nothing on low band either.

Can you hear the Norman site?

Is it operating normally?

On the OKC Site, I am hearing only occasional transimssions and only on 866.925MHz.

No, I have never received the Norman site from Canadian County. I am now receiving limited traffic but the audio quality seems different from normal -- solid but different. Confirming Alternate control channel is the active channel.

Sounds like OHP is operating without the OKC site. They didn't move to low band or mutual aid. I can't hear the Carney site very well, but it has OHP AM-1 traffic.

Also Mediflight.

Can you hear the Geary site?

Next to a scanner...
Sounds like the OKC site might be in failsoft mode (and 866.925 is programmed in the radios as fail-soft). I can't say that I am in a position to hear anything right now...

OKC is also dispatching on 44.70

No, It's not in failsoft.

The control channel is still there and it is trunking. In fact, running trunker, I am getting the normal affiliations. Just no traffic.

Also, when this system has previously been in failsoft, it transmits "emergency Beeps" to let the users know of the failsoft condition.

This just seems to be broken.

I don't generally receive the Geary site at home (between Yukon and Mustang). Normally, I will start to receive it when mobile near El Reno.

I just now caught dispatch talking to 590 on the Norman site so disregard what I wrote earlier.
I just wondered if Moore was using the Norman site or if they were down to tin cans and string.

They took all the VHF radios out of the police and fire units.

Just heard Lawton dispatch say that Cox cable was working on something and has knocked out the 800 system, without any warning. Said the system should be back up @3:00AM.

I've heard nothing from OHP, Chickasha, Elgin, or comanche County Sheriff..
Lawton PD is transmitting on 800 but with poor audio quality.

County is using 453.9000 but really poor audio.

Probably did that so they wouldn't have officers "talking out of school" on VHF, if you will. I heard an OHP low band conversation last Monday morning concerning a whacker that one of them had stopped. A short while later dispatch was on TRS with a message from a lieutenant to 10-30 (stop transmitting) on low band. Probably led to an intense counseling session later...

Anyway, still very little traffic and it is well past my bedtime.

Interesting. Thanks for the replies.

Guess we'll have wait and see if they can get their "cable" fixed by morning.

Think I'll head for bed myself.
