Next to a scanner...
Try programming the EDACS system. Then you'll get it in TGIDs rather than different freqs with all the beeps after transmissions.

I wish I knew how to program EDACS, I am using a pro-95 I have all the freq's in but I am not sure on how to align them. I have them in [example] bank 401-432, then where do I put the 02-021 etc etc I know it goes in the trunking area. MOT is so much easyer to understand right now that EDACS.

davido,

You are almost there! :) Good job on programming your first frequency on channel one, however did you:

a) enter the frequencies according to the LCN as shown in the RRDB?

b) set each channel and the *entire* 400 series bank to EDACS mode?

:)

Put the frequencies in whatever bank you want as long as they coordinate with the ending channel digit, like 301-320 or 701-725 (the last two digits - Bxx). Then set each channel type to ED for edacs. Finally, press Program, Trunk (I think) and set the bank to EDACS. This should do the trick.

If you're getting beeps after the transmissions, then you aren't trunk-tracking.

1. Start with a new bank - don't mix EDACS and Mot systems.
2. The freq's LCN number must match the last two of the channel number.
3. The BANK must be set to EDACS (while in manual in the bank, hit Program, then Trunk, then Mode until the display says ED in place of MO, FM or AM.
4. Each freq/channel in the system must also be set to ED. (step through them all and make sure!)
5. While still in the bank, hit Program, then Trunk again. Now you are in the mode to enter talk group IDs IN THAT BANK. The IDs go with the system, that goes with the bank. You can't have two systems in one bank, and you can't have the IDs for another system mixed in.

Download Win95 from www.starrsoft.com and buy or make a cable -it's MUCH easier to upload rather than program by hand.

HTH,
