There has been a great deal of activity on the OKC Site with the EMSA TG's. Sadly there were about fifteen of them digital AND encrypted. There were also tests on a TG 55120 calling, "EMSA to Norman". I do not know if this is a link to something in Norman or what.
Then there was "EMSA Field Supervisor to Shawnee," on TG 55184

The most active unit ID was 14099.

This same unit was talking to another unit on TG's:
12912
13040
13072
13104
13136
13200
13232
13264
13296
13488
13520
13552
13616
13680

Was just a page requested on UHF asking that the units use 800Mhz to go enroute to hospitals.

Was at Deaconess Hospital last night and they have one of the new 800Mhz DPS radios. Their user interface is a basic MC1000. Was pretty nice. Did not see where the radio itself was so I couldn't identify it.

Listening yesterday, I couldn't catch them simulcasting the dispatch freq.

I know they have been active over the past couple weeks, but I've never caught them simulcasting, and I haven't been able to devote any serious time to listening to how active they have been. I think they would probably want to do some coverage testing for a period of time, and I've assumed that they would simulcast for a while to accomplish that.

Now I'm wondering is they are using the DPS system to call in patient reports to accomplish coverage, or if the activity we've heard for a couple weeks are technicians doing that coverage testing.

If coverage testing is being performed without simulcasting, I suppose we could see an abrupt switch to DPS, without warning.

Any thoughts?

The units are doing their reporting to the hospitals via their 800 links. There was a page sent out and radio message on UHF to start using the 800 side for hospital reporting.
