OKC Overview - current status?

Thanks to all for high level synopsis of OKC.

As I travel there quite often - curious where we are at:

OMACS (Oklahoma Multiple Agency Communications System - Trunk)
Midwest City - Looks to be be in the clear on

OKWIN P25 -
Norman PD in clear? (think they went E)
Moore PD Dispatch in clear
Lawton - Enc
Edmond PD Dispatch in clear
Nichols Hills / The Village PD in clear

OKC Metro Public Safety-
OKC PD - Enc
Nichols Hills / The Village PD here as well but show Enc.
Yukon - Enc

OCPD's home is the okc system. Their dispatch channels are patched to OKWIN and are unencrypted for now. They are looking to change that sooner than later.

Looks like springlake division went full time encrypted on the OkWiN site haven't heard any traffic since yesterday all others still in the clear

Yup it's been back on now for like 3 days wonder what there doing maybe upgrades to the radio system

I just assumed it was part of them going dark on OKWIN. Surprised it was fixed.

Norman and OU PD is fully encrypted. FD is in the process of fully encrypting.
Edmond is going to OKC's system. PD will be fully encrypted. Not sure about FD
OKCPD is doing upgrades and will be fully encrypted on their system as well as OKWIN.

As Peter has indicated, most agencies are going to be fully encoded, 90 percent of the why is do to officer safety and the some people abused the clear air groups. The amount of training that fire and police is quite costly and that why radio comms have change. since 2000 digitial comm have the norm, not saying is good or bad. just part of 21 century since 9/11

Where did you hear that about Edmond? Most recent discussions were to (pardon my explanation, may not use the right terms) build out their own site like it used to be and be separate from but still linked to OKWIN for reliability purposes.

OMACS channels are already in place for EPD and EFD for use when OKWIN is down.

100% correct on OCPD, so anyone not on OKC's system or provided the key for Phase II equipment will be in the dark, negating the whole reason and justification for the new radio systems back with Evans and Rominger were killed.
