I will be traveling to the OKC area in Early March and was wondering if OKC PD and FD was still simulcasting their traffic on the old UHF/VHF frequencies or has the city deactivated the old channels and completely transferred to the new ProVoice System? I would have done a forum search on this, but I am rather limited on time. Thanks in advance.

The Oklahoma City Fire Department has switched all operations to the Oklahoma City TRS.
All Fire Communications except initial alerts are in ProVoice Digtial a cannot be monitored on any current scanner.

By march all OKC.P.D. operations might be on Oklahoma City TRS. Too..

Thanks for the information! Hopefully they'll keep simulcasting a bit longer.

Next to a scanner...
Personally, I think the simulcast sounds pretty bad. The dispatchers sound very muffled on the analog side unless you have a nice radio with large speakers or something else that helps.

It almost sounds as if the transmissions are overmodulated....like the audio into the VHF side is too hot going in.
