Fact is they are moving all dispatch duties to a newly acquired building. Whetsel is real concerned with a possiblity of a riot at the jail and possible take over of the comm center (since thats were they dispatch for the agency and the eastern half of the county) finally someone is thinking down their. Anyone that wants to know the location stay tuned.......

Tulsa regional dispatch is supposedly going to move too for a simular reason. They are next to the all the court houses, city and state buildings

Yes, I've heard the same thing. The comm center at Tulsa is fairly new compared to other centers around the area. They have the mighty "garage door" they can close when they bad stuff is coming. That should keep them safe (that's what they always told me. :wink: ). Also, are they going to move TAEMA from downstairs? Apparently that's one of the reasons they are located there. Also, it was supposedly good enough during the cold war, now it's not good enough? Hmm..

Let's not forget, Tulsa's 911 center also has an alternate super secret location and a master plan in place in case of a "problem".

I agree..sounds like a BIG waste of taxpayer money to me.

I dont know about the tema center. The new dispatch is supposed to be up by emsa on Pine. Complete with chailink and barbed wire. What really
got me upset about the deal is they are going to leave the current center
just sitting there for a just in case....... This is going to be a MULTI million dollar contract yet they cant uograde the serves for the laptops???

Beckham SO made their move to a new facility over the weekend. Had repeater problems ever since, I heard them talking to Lawton Communications about it crashing...
