Okmulgee County seeks Emergency Mangement Director. Applicant will have a Bachelors degree in Public Safety or related field, 3 years progressive management experience in a related field or a combination of experience and education that demonstrates knowledge and skill in emergency management and communications. The successful candidate will coordinate and direct the planning, organization, control and implementation of local emergency management activities for Okmulgee County and the surrounding communities. Thsi position will work with local, state and federal agencies to secure grants and other funding. Applicant must possess strong leadership capabilities and excellent organizational skills.

With these qualifications I doubt it is a volunteer position.

The Okmulgee Board of County Commissioners welcomed Dan Ivins as the new Okmulgee County Emergency Management Director, during the regular Monday morning meeting . Ivins will work under the auspices of the Okmulgee County Criminal Justice Authority.
Ivins has retired from the Air Force after a 20+ year career as a firefighter. Ivins and his family are re-locating to Okmulgee from Tucson, Arizona, where he has been stationed for the last nine years.
