Hi All,

I'm working on the Johnson County Kansas Conventional PD frequencies, I am having trouble with the city of Olathe. I found a listing that shows:

Olathe Ch 1 (dispatch): 453.8250
Olathe Ch 2: 453.9000
Olathe Ch 3: 453.7500

Ch 1 and 3 seem correct, however Ch 2 seems to have Olathe Fire/EMS comms on it, and when Olathe PD officers and dispatch talk about going to Ch 2 they disappear, they are not on the listed frequency. Can anyone in the area help me out with this?

Thanks

OLATHE, CITY OF WNCD874 855.48750 2000-03-29 1 0 FB2 20K0F9W GP OLATHE

Now the 3 freqs you listed are in that mix but do you have the VHF freq listed and the 800 MHz listed? What are these freqs?

Ok, i looked into it further, the 453.9000 frequency is Olathe PD 2, it appears to be shared by EMS ops, but i had it programmed incorrectly earlier which was my problem.

Olathe, Lenexa and Shawnee still use conventional frequencies, all the rest of the major areas of Johnson county use either the County or the other trunked systems in the area.

Too bad I had this messed up earlier, I caught the original calls for the bank robbery at 151st and Mur-len, but missed it when they switched comms to 2.

154.845 is Olathe FD ops which appears to be a separate system from the Johnson County EMS/Fire dispatch center, units in Olathe appear to be dispatched by both systems.

The 800mhz frequencies, I have no idea, haven't heard any activity yet and they aren't attached to any of the area trunks that I can see.

I'm fairly sure this was a freq. I heard some P25 activity on a couple of times about a year ago. I didn't have a digital radio at the time so I don't know what was said.

I never heard it again.

Details for 855.4875 in Olathe

BTW, thanks to who ever submitted the new conventional data on Olathe and Lenexa. I'll be passing through in early September.

I scanned 855.4875 all night last night with my 2096 and heard nothing, course that isn't conclusive or anything but whatever it's for it's not a very busy channel. As far as I know none of the PS agencies in this area have any plans to change to digital in the near future.

I submitted Lenexa, Olathe and Shawnee to the database, It looks like whoever posted em did a little more research than I had completed when I did the submission, because I didn't submit the input freqs. I guess Shawnee is still in progress. Overall these 3 cities are far more active than those on the various TRSs in this area.

I just figured out what else 453.9000 is actually used for. Aparently the Lee's Summit, MO fire department has 453.9000 licensed, call sign: KCZ477. I didn't think I recognized the street names they were using when i thought it was Olathe. I would guess they use a PL tone so Olathe PD officers don't hear Lee's Summit FD and vice versa, but I'm using a Pro-95 to listen so I c an't tell and I can't block either.

Mods: Please update the record in Johnson County, KS it really is just Olathe PD, I guess you could add 453.9000 as a Lee's Summit, MO FD/EMS channel if it's not already done.

I found the PL tones for the Johnson County Conventional Frequencies I submitted previously. Here's a list for anyone who is interested. I also am about to submit these to the DB.

Shawnee Police
Dispatch - 136.5
Ch2 - 136.5
Ch3 - 136.5

Olathe Police
Dispatch - 110.9
Ch2 - 110.9
Ch3 - 110.9

Lenexa Police
Dispatch - 110.9
Ch2 - 110.9

I don't think i've ever heard anything on Lenexa Tac channel, but I'm assuming 110.9 would probably be the correct tone.

Hope this helps.
