Why when i updates my scanner and put the channels in it took them but i do not have sound and they are not hitting on the channels bcd996xt

are they encrypted maybe or possible p25 phase 2 that the 996xt will not decode. and secondly you didnt say what it is that your trying to listen to.

If you want to clear out everything that you have programmed and reset the scanner to factory defaults...


(1) turn off the scanner

(2) hold down these 3 keys... 2, 9, and the "hold/resume" key

(3) while continuing to hold down those 3 keys, turn the scanner on

(4) Release those 3 buttons and follow the prompts on the screen.
