old scanner

am thinking on setting up my old radio shack pro-29 for a live feed for the local fire departments. i downloaded the software to use now to find the 1/8th to 1/8th cable to hook to my computer
its also wired up to the discone antenna i have that is spit one line to my BCD996P2 and one to my Pro-29
is there anything else needed

since they are local, do you really NEED to split the antenna ?
can you put the local stuff on one with a stock back of the set kind of thing ?
and use the discone for farther out stuff ?

Where my computer is the stock antenna would not work so I have the main cable coming in from the discone antenna then spit to my 996p2 and to the pro-29

Got the cable I need to hook my pro29 up and thinking on adding all the fire departments from the province I live in but not sure how many I will pick up till I get the power pole installed and discone antenna mounted to it
I know there is atleast 4 I can pick up
And will be setting up another feed with 2 SDR’s once I get a couple adapters
