There are lots of PRO-2005 / 2006 scanners for sale on eBay... it might be cost effective to just buy one, decent unit to cannibalize.

Can you see any manufacturer marks, or names, on the part? Check electronic component suppliers (DigiKey, Mouser, Newark, etc.) for that manufacturer, and match the physical characteristics.

Unfortunately I pitched it. I was kind of angry that it broke so i through it in the garbage and I have been kicking my self ever since.
There is a kind of a cam inside, like a little bar, and that is what broke. Right now I have the on off wires sticking out the top of the radio and when I want it on I just connect them. It works but I rather have a switch.

Considering the on/off is the volume pot it’s a bit more complicated. You have to find the right variable resistor with the switch on the rear! Then it’s 3or 4 wires to resolver!
As the Pro-2006 is a pretty old unit, you could just buy a small switch, put a hole in the top of the case and go that way!!!
Or run those wires to a small switch mounted in an enclosure affixed to the top of the radio!

The on/off switch and volume control are two different pots, the on/off switch is on top of the volume control they both have their own individual tabs that the wires are connected to. I could have the switch attached to the frame but that would mean another hole somewhere on the back, it could be done, another possible fix if I can't get an original switch.

I don't know if pages 4 and 5 of the attached would be of any help to you.

The service manual is available online, but the manufacturer part number given does not come up in a search.

I would just connect the 2 wires from the switch together so it is always powered up, and just take the power plug out when you want to shut it off. ( in other words, bypass the switch)
If you do that the backup battery will lose it's power and the radio will lose it's memory. BTW, I do use an alligator clip to connect the wires and disconnect, like I said I would just like to get it back to original state. I am just waiting to hear back on another Pro 2006 to use as a parts radio.
