• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

Hello:
Beginner at this.

On the new 996:

If you have only 1 group in a System (with a Quick Key for it), do you also need to assign a Group Quick Key, or with only a single Group it is unnecessary ?

No interest in individual Talkgroups entering. Just want to use CC's:
If I use only Control Channels with a MOT II System , do I enter these as just regular frequencies with a MOT II designation for the System ? (using the USAD software)

Or,... ?
Any details on this would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
B.

1) Not necessary, you never have to assign a GQK anyways

2) Not sure I understand - have you used the UASD software yet? It's pretty clear where the frequencies go in - there's no option for "designating" frequencies
