I would have to say that 25% of Ocean County is on the new 500mhz system. Paging will be going live on the new dispatch freq in about 2 weeks. The rest of the county should be switched over by the end of August. I know the County is anxious to get everbody over, the problem is the radio supply and demand.

I heard from someone today that there is a good possibility that the fire departments on Long Beach Island may not switch over to the County Trunked System, but, instead, may work off a separate VHF system that only they would use. Does anyone know anything about this ? Barnegat Light FD has always had their own VHF system separate from the county, but the others have always been dispatched by and used the county frequencies. If anyone has any news on this would appreciate it if you would post. Thanks
