Hi all,

If anyone is in Monmouth County and willing to do some detective work, I'm looking to verify a couple OneVoice network connect plus sites at the following locations,

40°23'45.4"N 74°10'28.5"W - near Hazlet, NJ

40°23'47.1"N 73°58'41.2"W - Highlands, NJ

40°13'30.7"N 74°03'20.3"W - Asbury Park, NJ

40°12'13.4"N 74°16'13.5"W - Freehold, NJ

There should be control channels for the OneVoice Connect Plus system in the 450 and 500 MHz, please report back what site ID you can pick up at the locations above.

Thank you,

When I do a search on FCC ULS for couple frequencies, all of the above mentioned sites come up.

I know there are some new sites that the OneVoice system has come up and site number changes. That’s why I want to confirm from the field.

You are correct that something is up...my apologies

The Holmdel site (34) is reporting neighbors 35, 33, 32, 29.
Quick look on SDRTrunk shows 501.9375 as an active control channel for site 35 neighbors are 34, 33, 29. No way I'd hear Bergen in Monmouth County. License shows that frequency in Freehold.

Keep in mind that at least one of the NJ companies that was partnered up with Goosetown on the OneVoice system split off a few years ago. It might not even be the same system anymore down there, although the NetID is still 171.

Any suggestions on how to see if this is still a part of it or is a split?

If the peer sites don't make much sense, that could be a clue. There was also apparently something to do with the frequency ranges that I don't recall with 100% certainty. Perhaps it was anything in the 500 MHz range were the sites that split off. I was never able to fully confirm whether the sites in central/southern NJ are still part of OneVoice, or a separate system now, so I just left them as-is part of OneVoice in the RRDB.

Oh yeah and the talkgroups might provide some clue also. If you're seeing TGID's in central/southern NJ that are already part of the OneVoice system in the RRDB, but their usage down south makes no sense...

I have to be honest, I really have no idea what is going on with this system at this point, so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt. Hopefully we can get it all sorted out properly at some point, though. Either it's all still OneVoice or it's not.

So @GTR8000 I will let you figure out what to do with this info, but

The Holmdel site is carrying talkgroups that seem to line up with what is in the OneVoice DB (Auto parts delivery talking about auto parts). Holmdel is reporting this site 35 as a neighbor which I am assuming is the 501.9375 CC that I am seeing.

That frequency is licensed to MICTalk in Freehold, as are the frequencies on the Holmdel site.

MICTalk's website shows two coverage maps, one of which mentions Onevoice.

I also looked at Martinsville, which I don't believe exists... I am getting CC of 452.26250 broadcasting NetID 171 Site 33 (Belle Mead in Somerset). Its broadcasting neighbors 39, 36, 32, 38.

Is it possible for a system to be configured with Site 34 (Holmdel) advertising neighbor site 33, but Site 33 not advertising neighbor 34?

This is what I have logged so far, again the sites may not be actually what is states but at least the frequencies and Site ID are accurate to the best of my knowledge:

Site 32:

West Orange / Eagle Rock (Confirmed)
Neighbor Sites: 33, 36, 37, 38
454.3250 Color Code 12
502.1000 Color Code 1
502.3000. Color Code 1

Site 33:
Belle Mead (Is this transmitter site actually in Martinsville rather than Belle Mead?
Neighbor Sites: 32, 37, 38, 39
452.2375 Color Code 2
452.2625 Color Code 2

Site 34:
Holmdel
Neighbor Sites: 29, 32, 33, 35
502.2625 Color Code 1
502.1375 Color Code 1
502.1000 Color Code 1

Site 35:
Possible Sites:
Neptune / Freehold / Atlantic Highlands / Holmdel / Belle Mead
Neighbor Sites: 29, 33, 34
501.9375 Color Code 1
502.8625 Color Code 1

Site 35 (Duplicate Number):
Stag Hill, NJ
Neighbor Sites: 11, 13, 17, 21, 88
454.30625 Color Code 2
477.6125 Color Code 2

There you go, the example of duplicate Site 35's is what I was getting at. I can confirm beyond any doubt that Stag Hill is a Goosetown/OneVoice site and is Site 35. If there is another Site 35 in the Monmouth County area, it's unlikely to be part of OneVoice as we know it.

I have been running DSDPlus on the Belle Meade site since yesterday. Not a whole lot going on there.

It seems the most activity on Belle Meade occurs during school hours, as I see more school bus activity than anything. If you hit it outside of that, you get the ghost town your screenshot shows.

Yeah, I do not believe Martinsville really exists either. There is a bus company based out of Franklin that has out-of-district routes in Bridgewater. When they are in Bridgewater, their radios do not work. Every transmission is met with a bonk and receive is hit or miss. Both sites have the same CCs too, which doesn't add up either for their proximity. Knowing that their reach goes beyond the home district, I don't think they locked themselves into single-site service (if that's even how the OneVoice billing structure works).

The LSN data on Martinsville is really the LSN data for Belle Meade. When I put the Belle Meade data in, it would either stick me to S1 S2 on 452.2375 or boot me to 506/508. The Martinsville data gave DSD+ exactly what it needed to recognize and monitor Belle Meade.

I’m in the northern portion of the county and am getting a lock on it, so I am not sure what to make of that. I can take a drive to Martinsville in the next couple days. Is the site supposed to be the same site as the NJICS site on Miller Lane?

I cannot get Martinsville Site 70 from the South end. 452.2375 and 452.2625 both send me to Belle Meade, Site 33.

It appears that the LCN lineup for both 33 Belle Mead and 70 Martinsville might be identical in the subscribers currently. Yes, that is how both sites are labeled as of early 2022. The LCN lineup in the RRDB for 33 Belle Mead (500 MHz channels) dates back to at least 2018, and may well have changed.

I really can't confirm any more than that, but I do believe that the listing for 33 Belle Mead is quite possibly wrong, and Site 70 Martinsville may not exist at all.

I've updated the channel lineup for 33 Belle Mead, and have set 70 Martinsville to deprecated status. That seems to be more inline with the observations in this thread.

Site 70 is now Putnam Valley, licensed under WRMZ587.
471.5625 Color Code 3 is the control channel. It is reporting Site 11, 14, 16, 21 and 46 as neighbors. I haven't found other voice channels yet but it is quite an active site.

I can no longer pick up the old Site 16.
There is also a new Site 68 which is supposedly located at 1 Hanson Place across from Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn. It has some pretty amazing coverage and I can pick up the site 35 miles away.

Site 68 - 1 Hanson Place
WQWS895
472.2875 Color Code 8
472.7875 Color Code 8
Neighbor Sites: 4, 5, 13, 16, 201

Received a timely submission the other day from someone in the Barnegat area. It seems that site 29 has undergone changes as well. He is receiving control channels of 454.425 and 454.550 at the site, both color code 7. At the moment his ability to map the site out further is limited, so if anyone in the area wants to pitch in, feel free.

He also noted the following talkgroups, which are not documented in the RRDB yet.

1070000 Towing Company
1899426 Construction/Dump Trucks
1899803 Lakewood Twp School Buses
1899841 Towing Company
1899935 Southern Regional School District Buses
1899958 Towing Company
