received a 40ft 'rg8x' to replace 75ft 15yr old ripped crack coax....shorter distance now, hope i chose well...... txs all.....

Should work fine.

There will -ALWAYS- be something better. It's a hobby, do the best with what you've got and what's in your budget. If your 75' of old coax was damaged, you may notice an improvement with the new stuff. Enjoy….
