Only hearing dispatcher on Staten Island NYPD Pcts

For at least the past few hours I am only hearing the dispatch side of transmissions on the Staten Island Precincts. Both channels covering the 120-121 and 122-123.

Anyone know why this is? I know this happens with FD when they have the mixer off, but I’ve never seen this on the PD side.

Nevermind, they are operating on CW3. Must be doing some sort of maintenance or maybe they were short dispatchers and put them all on one frequency.

It’s probably due to DTV interference that blast’s Staten Island now as a result of the DTV repack.
The SI 482/485 frequencies get whacked when the band is open.

I see WCPB, Salisbury, MD is Channel 16 (482-488) so that could probably really hammer SI with coastal tropo ducting.

Crushed many T band users. The first of the season. Second year now since DTV repack.

Today was a bad day for T-Band, especially 480mhz plus. Crushed many radio systems.

I've been listening to Queens and Brooklyn pcts and it seems most of the zones are having signal issues as well.

I see WCPB, Salisbury, MD is Channel 16 (482-488) so that could probably really hammer SI with coastal tropo ducting.

The path to many new stations, power and elevation should not be overlooked.
