I know that the CACCs will have gps live for each ambulance, and they will coordinate the each CACC map system to correspond to the dispatch. For example linsday CACC will have an amublance its communicating with to a given area that borders that of another CACCs say Kingston, It wont dispatch another ambulance, because on the computer map, it will see the gps of the initial ambulance. its really a lack of communications between CACCs thats the problem. And i am frankly surprised that its 2018, and there only starting a pilot project, this has been a problem for years. Just ask any paramedic.

New Radio systems
New Phone Systems
New Call Triageing Tools (MPDS)
More automated data exchange between dispatch and peramedic services
Upgrade to dispatch software to see ambulances in the whole province as well as recommend closests ambulance more accurately
....just a few things from a whole list of changes.

My understanding is these changes will be starting this summer and be fully rolled out to all ambulance dispatch centres in the province by 2020’ish
