How do you guys have this programmed? P25 One-Freq. trunk, regular conventional, P25 Trunking?

The reason why I'm asking as I looked in the TAFL, and Fitzroy PP in Ottawa shows 149.1850 for the park. I programmed it in ProScan as P25 one frequency trunk. On my 996P2 it shows bars of signal kinda like a trunking system would; no voice as of yet.

Would that be the repeater beaconing? Or should I reprogram it as something else...

P25 OFT. The repeaters do beacon at a regular interval.

If you have DSD, sit it on the frequency and sometimes you'll see what group is being used.

UPDATE:

Heard voice for Fitzroy; freq. is 149.1850, NAC is C92 and TG is 10536.

Submitted to the DB.
Good to hear of this update. Now we'll know when the wood is about to get delivered to the campsite. lol :p

Curious to know if the low band channel is still active or not since the switch over. 46.940 PL 118.8

I put the low band back in the scanner and have it on, so we'll see. I programmed in the P25 as a conventional channel for testing as opposed to the OFT and it worked this morning...

When I'm back at my cottage next week-ish I'll see if I can grab some more from the nearby parks.

I think you'll find that once a park switches to P25, the lowband channel is gone.

If you experiment with OFT again, make sure you have ID Search turned on. If you don't, you'll need to program in the talkgroup to make sure you hear anything.

I looked up Murphy's Point Park in the TAFL and it doesn't even show low band. Only the VHF P25 that mirrors the others. A few still have both...

I have the OFT for Fitzroy left on Search for now...
