I am looking for the frequency for Ontel Security out of Modesto.
I have looked through the RR database and online to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated.

Many companies either use cell phones, or have a lease on a repeater system. If not already in the database, you will most likely have to be near one of their vehicles with a scanner capable of close call capture in order to get at least one frequency.

The FCC database does not have anything under that name.

Try looking at some of the LTR systems at the bottom of this page --

A couple of them have Security talk groups

I had Ontel working an apartment complex where I live, one of the more professional security companies I've seen. I wouldn't imagine they would have enough traffic going at any given time to really capture anything and make sense of who or what it is.

Who knows, might get lucky one day.

I thought I heard them on one of the talk groups (possibly even out of SJ Co) last winter.

Security companies in an attempt to secure their client's information use secret codes to designate locations and may or may not use non-standard 10 codes as well. Even if you receive their frequencies it is usually just a bunch of numbers.

That would be around the time that they were still running security checks for that apartment complex. They now have ABM or w/e it's called.
