Earlier I was monitoring the Aurora talkgroup on Fleetnet and came across a new ID that if I am correct I don't think I have heard it beforem

A 407 unit (5 Lima) went after a high miler/stunt racer, no real pursuit but it took a few minutes to pull over this guy.

Orillia dispatched that there was a "Raven" unit in the area and while I didn't see the RID of this officer I clearly heard him referred to a RAVEN.

I figure that this soft ID of Raven is used so as not to confuse them with Romeo units and MNR Romeo's.

Anyone here ever heard this sort of stuff before? I am wondering if Raven units might be a special group, for high-milers, org crime?

If it was just "Raven" and nothing else, I wonder if there might have been an aircraft around?

Would almost make sense, Raven and bird. Also, when I tried a Google search of "OPP id Raven", the first hit took me right to the OPP's Aircraft Enforcement page on their website.

Hey Eric,

Yes "Raven" is one of the OPP airplanes.
I have heard Raven 2 in the air many times over the last month or so.

Was monitoring the aurora talkgroup and usually patched with Sim 11.

At the time of monitoring, they were clocking high mileling MCs.

Makes sense guys, Raven=bird, and it was a MC they were after.

I reckon they take off from Buttonville or an airfield up there.

I'm gonna ask my brother-in-law, he flies out of Buttonville daily.
