Orange county DMR

Hello all,
I am considering purchasing the DMR upgrade for my SDS200. I noticed that Empress and a few other departments are on it. (DMR) Has anyone done this upgrade and is it worth it? Anyone local listening to it?

Both NYCOMCO and OneVoice systems are very active and have good coverage within the Orange County area. If you are looking for DMR activity to monitor and don't mind spending the money, it is worth it.

Well seeing as how he posted the thread in the NY forum, which wasn't even one of your choices....good grief. And STOP SHOUTING, it's obnoxious.

Well to awnser the OPs question (shocking ikr). Yes i have the DMR upgrade on my SDS200, SDS100, 996P2, and my 325P2. It is very worth it in this area with OneVoice Con+ and T3 also NYCOMCO and East Mountan. I also use DSD+ and SDR Trunk to listen to OneVoice. Especially to monitor empress and the HELP Trucks, aswell as NYS DEP.

Yeah, the uniden DMR upgrade is a bit expensive but i say its worth it in this area.

Thanks for the replies, but I know absolutely nothing about DMR. so, my next question is, if I upgrade to DMR, I will be able to receive Empress without the help of other software, correct?

Correct. Once you purchase it, you will receive the DMR key. Once you enter that key into the SDS, you will be able to listen to DMR.

Thank you all. I bit the bullet, and all is good. Now to decide if I should upgrade my other 2 radios.
