Thank you all for the information. I see now that HRO has them in stock for $649, and they also ship out of Atlanta (about 45 mins from me) so if I ordered from them in the first place I probably would have it by now. If Zipscanners doesn't ship it in the next couple days I will most likely cancel the order and order it from someone else. I just don't like having a $650 charge on my bank account while not even having a estimate of when the scanner will be shipped. If it comes to it I will also look at bearcat warehouse, I just didn't like how you still had to pay shipping with a $650 order.

Thanks all.

They may process your card to insure it's valid, which may put a 3 day hold on the funds, but until they actually ship the unit, they are not permitted to actually "complete" the transaction where the $ is actually transferred into their account.

If they don't reply to your voicemails which is a possibility like when I dealt with them then you have recourse. They fully charged my credit card, not a 3 day wait when they said it was in stock but of course it wasn't and there was no prediction of when it would come. They produced a mailing label and that completed the transaction. I disputed it on the phone and that held their payment. I filled out the paperwork in writing disputing the purchase and mailed it in. It cost them twenty bucks. Nuff said. Be careful.

Scannermaster charges no sales tax and offers free shipping. Rich can give you an idea of how soon their next shipment might be. IMO, they’re the gold standard in scanner sales.

I ordered an SDS-200 yesterday from Scannermaster (they were briefly in stock). I was charged both shipping and sales tax. I emailed them asking why I was charged shipping.

Order Details:

That’s interesting, I guess they’ve changed their policy. I didn’t paid shipping or sales tax on my SDS200 or SDS100. Early 2021 IIRC.

I've ordered from many vendors over the years, and unless one has a sale over another, really is no difference. Scanner Master and Bearcat Warehouse have decent return policies, and I've used them. HRO seemed to have received some bad reviews in the past, but I take those with a grain of salt. A couple vendors have come and gone for various reasons, but if one has what you want in stock, I'd order from there.

I'm going to keep this post to a minimum. Contact zip and cancel your order. If they've already charged your credit card ask for a refund. They don't want the $20 charge if you contest it.

I'm not in a position right now to check and do all the legwork for you but I think if you go to HRO, and forgive me if I haven't done the research, I'm not in a position to do so. You should be able to get it for $649 and you'll have it in no time.
I just got one from HRO along with a REM-820S antenna. Shipped the same day. Unfortunately, the closest store to me did not have both items in stock, so the order shipped from NH instead of VA. Got it in 2 days instead of overnight.

Ended up cancelling the SDS100 through ZipScanners, Ordered through HRO on Friday. Scanner shipped same day, and will be arriving tomorrow (Monday) Very pleased with how fast the item shipped and is being delivered. I have a quick question with anyone that owns a SDS100. I am playing with sentinel and it is very different from Whistlers software, Is a "favorites list" on the sentinel software the same as a "Scanlist" on whistlers software?

Thank you all!

They are similar in concept but you may find Favorites lists easier to use - I do.

Hello all. I ordered a SDS100 from ZipScanners on Sunday. I didn't even realize on their website it said out of stock, taking backorders. The only reason I ordered from them instead of Bearcat Warehouse is because Zipscanners has free shipping, while Bearcat Warehouse was still trying to make me pay almost $20 for shipping...
I found out something interesting about Bearcat Warehouse's FREE shipping option. I went through the ordering process on their website for an SDS100 for $649.99 and when checking out there was no option presented for FREE shipping (as the OP posted above). The lowest priced option was for Economy Shipping which was $15 to my zip code.

I then removed the SDS100 from my cart and added a Uniden BCD325P2 to my cart for $369.99. When I got to the shipping options during checkout there was an option at the very bottom of the list that stated "FREE Shipping Over $200."

Based on that information it APPEARS that Bearcat Warehouse is selectively offering FREE shipping on some models/items over $200 but not all. PERHAPS they are not offering the FREE shipping option on the models that are in the shortest supply/highest demand at this time. FWIW

Sort of... I haven't used GRE/RS/ Whistler radios for a long long time so oh, I was familiar with easy scan a decade ago but those radios are long retired as I live in a simulcast world, somebody will help you.

I had the second Post in your thread. Glad to see you did what you did after you reread my post LOL. I think bcw would have given you free shipping if you insisted on it, and you wouldn't have paid tax but you did very well and hro will standby they're 10 day money back guarantee. Run the radio through its paces and make sure it's okay, before you purchase any upgrades as they are not transferable. Buy them on the 11th day LOL. Congratulations, good luck to you.

I will just note my experience with Zip so far - I've had an active order for more than 3 weeks.

A follow up - it shipped after 5 weeks. I would have cancelled before 60 days, but that wasn't necessary. They appear to have the SDS100 in stock now. The Email "back in stock" notification would have worked, but sometimes I'm out of email for several days and thought I it might be out of stock before I could order it.
