Obviously someone didn't read the part where location based questions should go to that forum. I'll request this to be moved .

Portland should be in its own bank, and Clackamas Co. in another.

Portland and Multnomah Co. share a trunked system, while Washington and Clackamas Co. share a different trunked system.

You should be able to follow the systems by using the control channel feature on your BCT-8.

Hopefully some of the Portland area folks can chime in about the other info you need.

Oh, you mean that guy that has "Wiki admin" as a title? Methinks you won't make many friends by telling others (especially mods or admins) to chill. He's just trying to keep things in order. ;)

You may or may not be aware of rebanding for CCOM (Clackamas), so make sure when the update comes out for your BCT8 that you update the firmware. The new frequencies can be found here, although I don't believe they're active yet:
http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=3136

As I don't listen to, nor follow the BOEC's goings on, I'm not sure what they're doing for rebanding.

B.O.E.C. is Bureau of Emergency Communications for Portland & Multnomah county. Nothing to do with Clackamas.
No need for base freq.. Don't worry about status bits.

I believe the BCT8 programming is the same as the PRO-433. If you join this group (free), the FILES section has step by step programming, including Conrol Channel only programming and a simple explanation about trunking.

Here are the control channels for the 4 counties in the Portland area.
You can find a list of talk groups in the RadioReference.com database.
