Hi all. I just got a BCD436HP and the Provoice upgrade. I am absolutely ecstatic! I live in the Greater Vancouver area and we have been utterly shut out for most emergency services. Zero police and ambulance for more than fifteen years. Today for the first time, I am getting everything and it is crystal clear. The thing is, this is a large area (region like a county) with a lot of police detachments. Municipal RCMP and City Police. I am having trouble understanding how to organize, so that if I want to listen to just one city or switch to another if I am in that area. The RR database chart is organized correctly to do this. For example, I am in Langley. How canI make a quick key or favorite to just monitor that city? And if I cross the bridge to the next town over, just scan Ridge Meadows RCMP? I don't expect full lessons here(unless of course that is feasible) but perhaps a point in the right direction for straight forward instruction. Searching for this is not so easy in an ocean of close but irrelevant info. Thank you for any help here. This is the system and all the talk groups I am interested in.

Use the Sentinel software to create Favorite Lists. Create the list then append the systems from the database to your list.

Yes I know about Sentinal and exactly what you mention . That is what I am asking help with. I have no clue how to do that, nor do I see very goog guides to do this. I have a Windows PC but am illiterate with it being a Mac user.

Once you get the fundamentals of Sentinel down and have created Favoritles Lists, you may wish to explore creating and using Quick Keys. Quick Keys are a method of quickly turning "things" on or off.

Thank you and once again, I am aware of the concept of favourites and quick keys. I have successfully used freescan with older uniden devices. I'm asking for help actually doing it. The mechanics of the software

Is there ANY better step by step instruction available? Something that is SIMPLE and can be followed while actually doing it. Something that includes actually applying (uploading to the scanner) the fav lists. The video by Upman is appreciated but it is very long winded and VERY superfluous.

K4DPS has a number of excellent YouTube videos which you may find helpful. He is also pretty good about making videos on things folks request.

Yeah I know him too thanks. I must have attention deficit disorder or something because I have a hard time following. I don't seem to be alone thought.
