On Sunday morning, I saw where an Osage County Deputy skidded through some sand on 52nd West Ave heading into Skiatook. The car went through a fence (and steel posts) into a field.
He's fine, totaled his car though...Now he's stuck driving the "Sherriff's Office minivan" . They were pursuing a stolen vehicle south on 52 west ave from Hwy-20 (146th St N) and when approaching a sharp left hand curve, the deputy loss traction on the sand leftover from the snow & ice and skidded off the roadway. the suspect was finally stopped and arrested in Owasso somewhere near 7600 N Garnett.
We also had another pursuit in Skiatook the same day about 8PM; Osage Co backed Skiatook PD on it
I live south of Zink Ranch and travel 52nd W. Ave. quite often.
On his new ride, that's just great because now I'll have to keep my eyes open for a minivan, along with the normal OHP, OCSO and Tribal Police cruisers as I travel the county
yeah, they all love to work traffic on 52 West Ave... it's really easy to exceed the speed limit on that long straightaway if you're not paying attention.
