It's been that way for a while now for some of us in other counties. Most counties don't want a "rural FD" talking on thier radio to begin with. I can't say that I blame them.

The smaller law enforcement agencies will most likely figure out a way to talk to them, or they'll join them.

Or, like people have been doing for many years....use the phone. That's what happens in most places. Calls for assistance, even between agencies, usually happen with a dispatcher to dispatcher call between the agencies. Rarely is direct assistance requested from a different agency via radio.

we are hardly ever on the county's channel (we mostly use our cellphones) but when a deputy is responding to wreck or if we need assistance with a disgruntal customer, it is nice to know we can get Osage County on the radio :)

I wonder if Osage county will be like Creek County: with the 800 side for the SO but the VHF would still be available for the smaller agencies and for where the 800 drops out.

i agree with that. i had to use it once. our "didnt feel good call" turned out to be a sucidal that made it appear he had a gun. so i hope they are like Creek County and keep both systems. that will make it better for everyone.

Osage Co Going 800

I don't it'll happen myself it'll be lack of distance since the county is so large in size . there is to much open country and alot of it is indian land . the Indian's are not gonna give up the land for a tower . not unless the county will allow the BIA officer's to use the repeater since they already use the current vhf system . but i'll find out if all this is true through my source which happend's to be a retired deputy

Static on Osage Sheriff 156.21000

Recently I have started picking up static on many Osage Sheriff conversations and dispatches. I've not had any problems until the last few days. Anybody know if they've changed anything?

I have been hearing the static you are speaking of . I know if the dispatch doesn't switch to the South repeater to talk back to units working South, it is really bad.
