• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Is this a third party firmware mod or something official from Unication?
This is a third party firmware and using it could void warranty, but sometimes third party is better. Seems there have been issues with the early versions reading the telegram posts. Use with caution.

Does this work on both Harris & Motorola systems? These vendors both have OTA Alias but implement them differently & are not compatible between each other.

Im interested in this project, but have no interest in using Telegram. Maybe once there's more info from other people or if it gets posted elsewhere I'd check it out.
Agreed. I might be interested in testing it in one of my pagers but I'm out on this telegram thing.

@Phillipsc84 is there way to get this and any info without signing for this??

Here is a link that should work. OTA Alias
Many thanks for this!

Have been trying to keep up with the Telegram thread--if that's even the correct term--but am having a devil of a time sorting through all the messages... From what I've read, you recommend that the G5 have the latest 2.05 firmware, and use the latest PPS of 4.00.48--is that correct?

Also, I'm unclear about which G5 model version will work... my G5 is pre DMR, and runs flawlessly on V1.33 firmware. Would hate to upgrade to the 2.05 f/w only to find out my G5 is too old.

Thanks,

This mod currently is for the original G4/G5 (Pre N/+) and for P25. DMR is in the works as well as the newer versions. You are correct it's for FW 2.05 and PPS 48. Feel free to ask any questions in that group or here if that's easier.

I'll look into it, also anything we need to know about/after installing? Perhaps a .txt file uploaded to the one drive account might be handy, if there's anything we need know unless it's in the .exe file.
Thanks.
Other than being on the correct FW and PPS and using a G4/G5 "A" series no. The app will load the mod and allow testing and restoring the factory FW if needed.
