I'm wondering where some of the submissions of conventional
frequencies for Ottawa are coming from. In the interest of having
a correct database, someone may want to check these and clean them
up. Besides, this database has a policy of accepting confirmed data,
which this is not.
- The YM/YWCA is not and never been on 453.0875. Check TAFL.
- There is no repeater for Rideau Centre on 451.1125. I have heard
this frequency used for simplex only. They may still be on 451.125 but
should be verified (I see no CTCSS or DCS listed...). This channel
has a multitude of low-power users, who don't all use the same input.
- I have never heard Carleton University Residence Security (or
anything...) on 464.325. The frequency at one time was 464.3375. TAFL
shows the former but looks like a case where it can't be trusted.
-somebody's found an input frequency for a repeater, but not the output.
The repeater is on top of a 23-storey building, but the input won't be
heard very far away, originating from inside buildings and underground
tunnels (hint). With not much extra effort, the output could be found.
