Does anyone know what frequencies the OU Norman Storm Chasers use when they communicate between vehicles? I know that they are somewhere in the UHF federal band but have seen conflicting frequencies.

Do a google search for IHOP 163.100 and you should have your answer. That is their primary frequency but they have 2 more. That frequency is simplex and the repeater output as i recall. They also have an itenerant frequency they use as well.

In 2007, Project Vortex winds up again with a huge armadda of research vehicles. as Dr. Lou Wicker put it - "were going to "nuke" storms. (They will have many mobile radars out there including a mobile phased array radar). This info from the TESSA Super Spotter meeting yesterday.

Talk about a bunch of chatter on the radio...

I wish this would have been advertised up here some, they had 200 seats open. Oh well, can check for it next year.

Gee, the way they talked on all the chaser groups, it was going to be SRO, people better arrive at least an hour early if they wanted a seat, etc. But after the BS about "Super Storm Spotters" , I wouldn't go near them now!

Actually it was really informative.

And there were some seats still open but worth the time spent to watch and learn..
