Could someone please tell me what antenne would work with bcd396t

to recive my local towns (not sure what freq that is). I would like one that

does not have to go on the roof but maybe on a poll or mount to a window.

I had a radio shack pro 96 and had no problems getting my local and near

town's.( 20 mile range ) I now have to have the scanner in just the right place

in the room if the scanner picks something up and I move it to much I miss the

conversation. Thanks for your help

I have the exact same issue. My pro96 is an excellent performer in my office, but the uniden is sensitive. I have tried a maldol 255 and the 800mhz trunked system is squashed. I particularly don't want an outdoor antenna, but a good replacement for the stock duck would be great. THX in advance.

A good one to mount on a pole or outside a window is the Grove Omni. It is about 66 inches long, has no radials, and picks up the entire range of scanners for the most part (30- 900 mhz) and is fairly cheap, $30.00. For those who are not good at building their own, (like me).
