What is the frequencies, that the pilot car uses to talk to the truck carrying the oversize loads? I saw one today and it looked like it was a 80 meter antenna on the pilot car

Normally they use one of the more common CB channels.

What you might have seen was a height sensor for low bridges.

This is the thing that makes me wonder why we even have forums. In the time it takes for one person to say "go look here", they could have given an answer. I mean, if they know "where" to find the answer, take the time to help out. If you think another site has the info then just say " maybe xxx has some info". RadioReference is a nice place to start, but I've been turned off by so many people that point fingers here and there, but have no Idea really of what's the truth. Lots of wrong freq's and information here, and when I've tried to let people know I've been responded too like I'm the dummy. Done ranting.

If you don't like dealing with people who have no idea what they are talking about, this is the wrong site for you :D

The question was posted simultaneously or within minutes on two seperate sites, one regional, the other more world-wide. Not sure why, as it got responses within a resonable amount of time on Intercept, I posted there and happened by here and saw it again, I think my point was why post at the same time on 2 sites, why not wait a bit for an answer.

The answer I posted btw is, it is used to measure distance for overpass clearances

this site has more than an ample amount of people who are well informed about all things about radio commutations.

On the other hand, perhaps the person does not know the specific info., but he knows where it can be found. Do you suggest he go look it up and then answer the question?

ok I guess we got a bit off track but the answer to the original question is that use the C.B.
19 east and west and 17 north and south 10-4.
