Just got an R6 and I can't seem to get the P Skip function to work during a VFO scan. According to the manual, when the unit stops on a frequency you want to skip, press Func + S.MW for 1 second, and the frequency is stored in the highest empty channel with a P Skip flag, and it should not be picked up again during the scan. The frequency is stored OK, but it is still received during the scan. Skipping works OK during a memory scan, however. Any ideas? Maybe a factory reset?
