On the 396/996 scanners, there are about 4 different things that can be done concerning digital systems.
One is the P25 LP Filter, another is the P26 Adjust Mode, there's a P25 Adjust Level and finally one can adjust the bit error.

Can anyone explain what these are, and how they should be used, or what improvements (or otherwise) can result with these settings?

Thanks!

As I have learned from these forums, the only way to access some of these settings is my pressing Hold while turning the scanner on and off...colors flash, then they will appear in the Settings under Menu. I've been attempting to optimize a stubborn simulcast/multi-path site on the Illinois Starcom system for some time since I received this scanner. My single site digital systems trunk and sound flawlessly with the factory settings, no need to adjust. I'm hoping their's some future firmware upgrades that will help with these simulcast/multi-path systems. I truly believe it's a decoding issue as I watch the ERR go from low to high loosing audio but holding full signal stregth.
