P25E vs P25e. What is or is there a line drawn in the sand between the two?
Recently the city of Santa Paula, CA (pop 30k) went from analog to P25 seemingly full time encrypted. I say “full time” as under “normal” conditions there is/was little radio traffic. After a few weeks or so of nothing but encryption I stopped scanning Santa Paula.
Still when I submitted the change from analog to digital to the Db I selected P25e, partial encryption because I cannot say with absolute certainty that never go in the clear even though I check occasionally.
Back to my question above: Is there a hard, fixed line or line-in-the-sand between “E” and “e”?
Would I be correct in changing Santa Paula to P25E?
