P25 non trunking and trunking via sdr

I do know a little but not much about SDR. I have managed to get one working at the first level. My goal as a Volunteer Firefighter is to receive VHF non trunking and 800 trunking for VFDs. I find the dsd webpages to be overwhelming. If possible please post me links to all inclusive software downloads for these to items. All webpages I have seen show several downloads for one package and several downloads for another package with instructions for each, some of which i do not understand. I can't afford hundreds of bucks for a dedicated scanner. Any heelp greatly appreciated !

You will want at least three RTL sticks. One for the VHF, and two for the trunking, via DSD.
