I've downloaded Duval County FL to my BC536HP but I don't hear anything from this system. Then I noticed the feed info said Phase II TDMA/FDMA. Do I need to change something in my scanner to be able to receive Phase II TDMA/FDMA?
Thanks

Depending on the type of scanner you have, you might have to upgrade to a phase II type scanner.

His post does mention a BCD536HP which is phase II capable.

The database lists the system as Project 25 Phase 1: https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=6868

When the talkgroups come up, they should show P25 in the display if they are Phase 1 as listed.

If they really are Phase 2, then the display on the 536 will show PT0 or PT1.

Has the system changed from Phase 1 to 2 lately?

Are you within a reasonable distance to monitor and what sort of antenna are you using?

The Law Enforcement is all Encrypted. JFRD was Encrypted they reopen their comms about 2 years ago. Last time I was in that area a few months back it was P25 phase l system.

If you are going to be near the beach area they getting their own system

Looking at the listings for Duval County, I don't see "county" fire channels/talkgroups. Does the entire county fall under Jacksonville?

Two other things you may want to check/try:

1. Make sure ALL SERVice types are enabled. Out of the box, Uniden only has a limited set of SERVices enabled which catches nearly everyone when they first get their radio.

2. You may want to set the trunk systems to "ID Search" to determine if maybe there are more talkgroups that are active but aren't posted / listed in the database.

One other thing - Jacksonville is a P25 simulcast system so it is possible the 536 isn't receiving it at all. If it is, you should see "DAT" flashing with some regularity (steady blinking pattern). If you're not seeing this, the radio isn't receiving the system properly. In that case, you may need to re-position the radio.

The system should already be in the database of your 536. Have you updated your scanner in Sentinel recently?

for simulcast distortion, stick your antenna through a hold in the side of an empty paint can near the bottom. ....since all law enforcement talkgroups are encrypted, plug in these frequencies used by mobile units

if your scanner picks these up with a short 1 inch antenna such as one meant for nascar, there is activity nearby, especially attenuated.

Duval and St.Johns county are all encrypted like someone else has said. and from what I'm hearing most Depts are either going to the state network or switching to encryption. Volusia county is working on a new P25 phase 2 and from what i have heard the whole county will be encrypted.

Yes I believe the system has changed. The Broadcastify feed states Phase 2 TDMA/FDMA.

Yes I'm about 3 miles south of the county.

No it's under Duval County. Fire Talkgroups are listed.
All service types are enabled.
ID Search? Don't know how to do that.

Thanks for the link! That is a nice manual.

All services are now on, but still not hearing anything. I'm using an outside discone antenna about 30 feet up.

And I wanted to say thank you to all you guys that replied.

One note, my updated BCD996P2 is hearing JFRD now.
