Howdy to all. We just recently moved from NJ to PA.
Now the fun begins learning what and where I'm hearing on the scanner.
Will a Uniden BC996 XT monitor the Pa State Police ?
I uploaded them from RR forum but hear nothing. Not sure if a got the correct ones loaded.
I'm located in Bartonsville Monroe Cty.
Thanks for your help.

Pro tip for you when examining trunked radio systems, An uppercase "E" anywhere in the mode column indicates full time encryption (as in mode "TE" in PA Starnet where PSP currently operate) Only talkgroups ID'ed as mode "T" here are clear and can be monitored. PSP have been fully encrypted for well over a decade now

I would like to add, there are other agencies that utilize PaStarNet that maybe of interest to you. Agencies such as PennDot, DCNR Forestry and Parks, Emergency Management and others that operate in the clear. The problem I see is your 996XT is P25 Phase 1 capable radio, Pa StarNet is a P25 Phase 2 system. You will need to upgrade to either a 996P2 or one of the SDS series of radios. This may avoid some future heartburn if you decide to monitor any of the above mentioned agencies.

Did the same in 2004 with no regrets. In your neck of the woods I think there's some stuff that's still analog.
