I'm listening to Los Angeles County Fire V-3 from the East Coast via 5-0 Radio Pro. Incredibly active situation and very dramatic. Wow. Prayers to those affected and for first responders.

Exactly where / what, is V1?

Can't find it anywhere on the database?

And what TRS are they operating on?

LA-RICS?

CWIRS?

Reason I ask, even though I cannot follow the action locally, I'd like to refer to the database and see where everything is.

TIA.

Are there any LA City Fireground channels in use or is it just County? Watching on YouTube from Illinois listening to the scanner app.

The fireground channels of the LAFD are 800 MHz. Large mutual aid wildland fires operate on VHF-High. For this reason L.A. County developed a VHF command and tactical radio system. The state also has an extensive VHF command, tactical and aviation radio system. Nationally there is a VHF Incident Radio Support system, in which the aviation function depends on for most large wildland fires. Agencies that fight wildland fire in the west might be on UHF or 800 MHz, but they have their own sets of both mobile and handhelds on the VHF band. VHF is the band for wildland fire and will be for a very long time. The other bands don't work as well in wildland topography.

I'm listening to Los Angeles - West County Interagency Fire and it sure sounds like someone is delibarately "stepping" over their coms.
Yep. It's particularly egregious on LA County Fire V-1 (Palisades Fire Incident Command). I think somebody is deliberately kerchunking on the repeater input freq, cutting out every other word, and only when field units are relaying addresses to command. I've been trying to find the physical location of the repeater(s) with no luck. Could be helpful in direction-finding where the interference is coming from.

It's interesting that the interference is less effective when the incident commander transmits, so whoever is doing this is hitting the repeater stronger than the field units, but not as strongly as incident command.

Thanks for confirming. I couldn't believe there's some lowlife pulling that stunt. Hope he gets caught and have the book thrown at him.

I didn't know of this yahoo interfering with communications. I've been listening to V1 all afternoon. Particularly stupid of him to do so as he interfered with emergency traffic for at least half an hour. It appears he stopped recently. Others are correct, the FCC has some sophisticated equipment and personnel available to catch such persons. This situation would be a high priority for their actions.
