Palm Beach County, Boca Raton

I searched the forums for an answer, but couldn't find one, so I thought I would post a new thread.

I'm trying to find out who uses the various towers in Palm Beach County.

For example, can the Sheriff's Department and other cities be heard on the Boca Raton tower, or is the Boca Raton tower only for Boca Raton agencies?

Also, can I assume that the primary County tower carries everything? That would seem to be the best one for me to use, except the coverage map on the trunking system page doesn't seem to extend all the way to the coast. ??

Any insight would be great.

Bart,

The Palm Beach County Towers (Primary) cover the County Sheriff/County Fire/Rescue/County Local Govt Services but do not re-transmit the Boynton/Delray/Boca sites.

The Boca/Delray/Boynton sites each covers their own individual Police/FD/Local Govt Services and are not repeated on the County Primary site.

You will have to program all three sites in order to cover the entire county.

None of the users roam across the cells. County users and a number of municipalities are on the County simulcast (Site 1) full time and Boca, Boynton, and Delray remain on theirs unless they manually switch or console patch to the County Common Talk-Groups for interop.

One followup question... can the primary County tower really reach across the entire county? According to the tower map, it doesn't quite reach a lot of those coastal cities. (then again, I'm not sure how reliable those maps really are)

It is plural on the towers. There are 10 of them and yes it is county-wide across the approximately 2200 square miles..
