In each apparatus, engine and rescue, each truck is equipped with an 800 Mhz Motorola APX mobile with the E5 control head which of course is used for the fire tac channels.

But I seem to notice that each apparatus also has an ICOM F5021/6021.

Does anybody know what the ICOM is used for?
