I finally passed my tech exam after being interested in the hobby for over 5 or 6 years now. I ordered a wouxun KG-UV3D from powerwerx the other day to keep me motivated which showed up yesterday in the mail. I'm excited to finally get on the air after years of listening in.

thank you. Had some technical problems with my wouxun so I had to send it back for a replacement hope to get on the air soon though

Congratulations - hope you enjoy many years on the air.
A fellow brought one of those new Wouxun radios to the meeting last month.
My only gripe is - are you going to send to China for your pension check when you retire.
As much as I can - I try to buy AMERICAN - or at least something that isn't made in
China.
The Cheap Ham had those radios last month for $100.00
The comical part of it is that the instructions are verbal - and the voice is a Chinese girl - I like listening to the commands.....
I think there was a software issue with the earlier models and when most of them are sent back - the update the program inside of the radio and after that they seem to be a pretty good piece - for what they are.

Thank you and yes I try to buy American as much as the next guy maybe even more. Living in Detroit my whole life I know this better than anyone but I'm not going to get into that stuff I just figured that the majority of radios are foreign made and there are even less that do dual band. I already have to send it back though due to audio no longer working. I'll be very upset if it happens again after I get it back. I made the mistake of going to power werx and not wouxun.us big difference I don't recomend anything other than wouxun.us
