Does anyone know what is going on with Paterson PD. It appears that they are shifting their dispatch channel frequently. This evening they announced for all units to switch to their Ch6. Otherwise, the traffic seems to be normal.
They're doing work on the radios, part of the launch of their new RTOC (Real-Time Operations Center) that they announced back in January and the overall "Paterson Police Department - Next Gen" initiative the OAG announced as part of the Paterson PD Strategic Plan in 2024. They purchased I believe 500 new Motorola's as part of the process so maybe eventually moving to the state system, But that's just a guess.
I wouldn't be 100% on that, We did TG Authorization letters with the PD and FD so they definitely have some capability to go onto the State System, Maybe just the Supervisors and up but someone does.

Ive heard that too, but i have yet to see what TGs they own nor has anyone clocked any affiliations with PPD RIDs. Patrol has 6000s, they arent moving any time soon.
