Hello All!
I have a few of the PCT PCTMA28P 8 Way Pass Return Drop amplifiers in my current shack which are powered by an adapter via a 120V AC to DC adapter.

Would it be possible to somehow bypass the 120V adapter and power the amp strictly off a 12V DC power supply? The coax and F connector is how it receives power from the adapter. I am trying to design the radio equipment in my new shack to run mainly off of DC power. Hopefully there is a simple solution just being overlooked.

I have the PCT MA2-2P which is the 4 port version, and it says the input voltage is 12-16VDC and current draw is 250ma. So simply make an adapter that feeds from your 12VDC power supply directly into a 75 ohm coax "F" connector. You can buy BNC to screw terminal adapters. I couldn't find one that goes from F-male to screw terminals, so you might have to use two adapters (F to BNC and BNC to screw terminals). Be certain to get the polarity correct on the connections to your 12V power.

This is how I do it.

Just ignore all of the connections other than the DC to Type-F adapter. ;)
