Peel EMS very strange sound

Why does Peel EMS the radio system they have time to time you get interference that sounds like a cricket or a hiss sound .

I never get that on other radio system but get that time to time on Peel EMS .And why is the signal strength very and I mean very strong being station area but going mobile in a car you get lots of crackly and chopping effect and sounds like I believe the proper name called Picket fencing.

I get picket fencing on PRP and YRP some times but not like that ye that comes in like strength 1 or strength 2 that is hard to understand or not getting the transmission.

Its kinda stupid you have to pull over to hear the call in peel and you are in peel.But I have pick up PRP from Newmarket.


The EMS is strange why the radio system is like that but I don't get that on PRP or YRP Its like you get them full strength or not at all and no middle.

It would be a hell of a lot easier to answer your question if you made an attempt to put sentences together that made sense NEC208.

Secondly, what kind of scanner or radio are you using.
Pretty hard to figure out your problems when you dont mention what it is you are using.

Where in Peel are you? Maybe you are closer to York Regions site, do you live in Brampton?
From my experiences on my scanners I had some troubles scanning Mississaugas tower around the QEW. I never had troubles on the 403 or 401 or 407.

What setting is your audio? Can you switch it to NFM? Again I cant remember or you have never mentioned what kind of scanner you have.

Play around with attenuator, maybe you are getting interference.

As for driving in a car; there are a lot of engine noises & interference that come into play;
what kind of antenna do you have? Standard issue or a good one?

You better take that scanner back to radioworld.
