DRIVER UPDATE: Depart at 9:30amThe organizers are now threatening to slow the Beltway each day until their message is heard, whatever it is.
There is some reporting that the convoy organizers are planning to stay in Hagerstown today and stage some sort of rally at the Speedway, but I would expect some rogues to go out on their own. There are also disturbing reports of anti-Ukranian rhetoric within factions of the protesters, another indication where the participant's "research" is sourced.
HA! First time I've ever seen the word used in a sentence! Of course, I'm still looking antidisestablishmentarianism in a sentence. One sided Antiestablishmentarianism.
The event organizers now plan to do a slow drive around the Beltway on Sunday.
This is great lol:
"Russia Is the distraction for what is going on here!"
‘People’s Convoy’ Truckers Are Still Very Confused About Their D.C. Plans
Some truckers told The Daily Beast they’re dead set on driving into D.C. on Saturday. Others insisted they don’t want to wreak havoc in the U.S. capital.www.thedailybeast.com
Yeah that's it. A war is meant to distract us from some trucks doing...something? It sounds like a disorganized mess. Should be some colorful radio comms to monitor!
Indy doesn't border the White House btw. The point of this protest is more or less moot as restrictions have been lifted in almost all jurisdictions. But the anti vax element cannot be swayed, even as their friends die. Can't fix stupid. To be fair, the disorganization isn't new, a year of two ago there was a trucker protest in front of the white house (on independence avenue), and during my (at the time) regular drive by the area, they were very good and peaceful and comfortable to be around. When my daughter asked what they were protesting, we took a closer look at one of their signs. The sign had a litany of grievances, and I felt like shouting out the window to the truckers standing around (having a barbecue) "Narrow your Message!!!". Protesting 5 different things isn't helpful, one (maybe two), fine, otherwise the message is diluted and appears confused.
As it was, I felt reasonably safe driving by with them protesting. It's gotten too dangerous to drive around the area now.
Thanks
Joel
Right, Constitution avenue was the one.Indy doesn't border the White House btw. The point of this protest is more or less moot as restrictions have been lifted in almost all jurisdictions. But the anti vax element cannot be swayed, even as their friends die. Can't fix stupid.
Neither does Constitution BTW, as it's south of the Ellipse. I believe that they are both anti-vax, informed by disinformation; and anti-government mandate due to political belief, however misguided.Right, Constitution avenue was the one.
I don't think they are anti-vax, just anti mandate, like I said, they need to clean up the message, which wont likely happen.
Thanks
Joel

Nope. Pennsylvania Avenue is right in front of the White House, hence the address 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.it's right in front of the white house... Part of the multiple reasons for going on it was to show the kids where these things were... The best comment when looking at all of these buildings was "Where did they get all of the stones?" which I started to think about and noticed there ARE a lot of Quarries in northern Virginia.
as far as the other part, yup there are different opinions.
Thanks
