I recently purchased this 'HDTV' antenna after noticing it covered UHF and 800 mhz. After hooking it up to my scanners -it outperformed all my other antennas combined. This model uses an array type and a 18db preamp. I highly recommend it.

Is the pre-amp powered by AC?
Did you mount on the roof and how far away are you receiving 800 TRS's?

Yes the pre-amp is powered by a/c. I have it mounted indoors and I can hear a 800 mhz repeater that's about 70 miles from me loud and clear. Before I could barely receive the cc.
