Looks like they're gearing up for this coming summer with the soccer games coming to town and the 250th.

Anyone have the P25 channel ID table?

And just like that, after a decade or so of arguing whether the system should be listed as Phase I or Phase II, the matter is finally settled for all time...hallelujah.

I also know that bordering Delaware County ("DelCo" to some) is also going P25 Phase II, and using 7/800 MHz EFJ/Kenwood/Viking VP8000 subscriber units. They are also having the growing pains of implementing a new system and radio infrastructure.

Having some fire elements in the area, this meant getting some radios for interoperability, and due to the VP8000's being multiband, the UHF band in analog mode, and then 7/800 MHz for county interop, my firefighters can get away with only carrying one radio instead of two (UHF being Motorola XPR7550e handhelds).

Please lets not derail this topic, thanks

Logged an unknown encrypted TDMA TGID-4173, UIDs 600211 & 604562 on Zone 2. Any insight @philacop or anyone else?
Added to both RID & TGID Wikis.

Trying to document all of the same for the P1 system before at all goes ENC. Hopefully, we can cross-match current TGID/RIDs with the new P2 TGIDs. After I do PD, I'll work on FD.

I think you may be confused about the details of what's happening. They aren't adding TGID's that are P2. There are 2 separate parts of this batch of radio upgrades.

First is creating a duplicate list of PD TGIDs that are strapped encrypted. They are in the 4100 range and reside in Zone C of their radios. The wording of the SOP (I've seen a copy) suggests that these new TGIDs are meant to be temporary, as they lay out special announcements the dispatcher has to make when they switch to them and switch back from them.

The second part is upgrading the system as a whole to P2 operation. I know that they are going district by district to complete this campaign, with about a half dozen or so completed, if not more. One can assume they are probably doing the same with firehouses, but we won't see any actual change in mode on the FD side until every single radio has been updated.

Keep in mind, the system dynamically changes mode (between P1 and P2) on a per-talkgroup basis. The TGID your subscriber radio is set to has nothing to do with that. Whether or not you are configured for TDMA does. Every single TG on the system has the ability to switch from P1 to P2 and back to P1 at any time. You will see this happen if a radio that wasn't updated yet affiliates with that TG. That is currently happening with these TGs that have gone P2. As I type this N-East and East 2 are in P1 mode...

Me confused, that's my middle name! :)

My thought process is that if I document the RIDs in the current P1 TGIDs, then I'll be able to match those RIDs if they appear the new ENC P2 TGIDs.

If my thought process is flawed, please tell me, because it will save me a crapload of time and energy.

Remember, I'm not a radio guy. I'm just an old retired FF/EMT.

Logging the RIDs MIGHT help you, but keep in mind that as radios are being swapped they are also being assigned new RIDs in the 60xxxx range. Lower RIDs with 5 digits won't help you compare. For logging purposes, I would concentrate on 6 digit RIDs only, really.

And drop the P1, P2 thought process when thinking of TGIDs. That moniker is irrelevant. All TGIDs are capable of P1 or P2. The 4100 range TGIDs are just new TGIDs.

Thank you!

I'm only logging 60xxxx RIDs currently.

So, TGID 1, PPD Far NE, may or may not become something in 4100 range then? I was thinking that all of the old ones were migrating to the 4100 range.

The information I have received doesn't indicate that the 4100 series district TGs are replacements, but rather supplements. The alpha tags on their radios are marked "Far N-East" on Zone A (the current TG) and "Far N-East ENC" on Zone C (the new 4100 series TG). The SOP does not suggest they intend to switch everyone to Zone C and leave them there. I could be wrong, and that intention could change if the top brass changes their mind, but my research and inside info has me believing the new 4100 series district TGs are for temporary use. It does, however, appear that the new 4100 series tactical TGs are permanent, as I do not see any activity from the older 100 series TGs.
