This AM around 0930 hours, the above call came out as a [working] house fire. It was assigned to A-9 West, as opposed to A-6 Northwest or A-10 Far North Valley.

No other traffic was working on A-6 or A-10 that I was aware of and I've been seeing more NW valley calls going to A-9.

Anyone have an answer?

Being from the Los Angeles metro area, it sounds like Phoenix is doing a reorganization (change of boundaries) of tac channels. Redividing them so another doesn't get overloaded during peak times. The other would be if they are doing away with an area and combining with neighboring areas.
You may also look for a new TG / frequency if they feel the need to add an extra area in the future.

Listen close to any other changes.

You also might want to ask this on the AZ Scanner group in F&$book. I believe there are a few PFD dispatchers that are members..

This happens once in a blue moon. Perhaps there was scheduled maintenance going on on the ch. 6 transmitters/receivers/antennas, so they assigned traffic to the secondary channel, which is usually ch. 9.

Address is interesting, 7500 E Castle Hot Springs Road should be the north Scottsdale area if Castle Hot Springs Rd was in the East Valley. Address should have been North not East, likely a typo by dispatch but not sure how that would affect routing as it looks all the right equipment was dispatched. Also the juridsiction is saying Yavapai County when I am sure its actually in Maricopa County.

The address of the incident actually is correct... For example, 3800 East Castle Hot Springs Road is in Morristown, AZ and that is about SR 74 and MP 2.0. It doesn't follow the Maricopa County streets convention. Why it doesn't, I have no idea.

The location is actually in the City of Peoria, since the State of AZ allowed cities and towns to cross county boundaries [you can thank the City of Sedona for that one].

The City of Peoria, and Lake Pleasant, extend up into Yavapai County.

A side note, my dad, with my brother, sister, and I, once drove Castle Hot Springs Rd in a station wagon from Lake Pleasant to Morristown back in the late 80's lol (It was either a '79 Ford Fairmount wagon with a manual transmission, or an '83 Chrysler LeBaron wagon.)

At least one of them is here, as well. I don't recall their screen name, however.
