I recently got into the digital age with my purchase of a PRO96. Did not realize how much I missed listening until I got my new unit. RR databases are GREAT!

Anyway, I have been hearing new unit designators for Phoenix Fire units being dispatched:

Please fill in the blanks:

E - engine
U - utility
L - ladder
LT - ladder tender
CR
SR

Paradise Valley Stations

Does anyone know what the Phoneix Station Numbers will be for the Old Rural Metro Stations that they take over on July 1, 2007?

I hadn't heard, has Rural Metro stopped serving another area? I followed the Scottsdale situation fairly closely as I have family living in that city. I hadn't heard Rural Metro was pulling out of additional areas. I would presume they are continuing to provide ambulance services to these same areas as during the Scottsdale situation they stated fire was not profitable enough and ambulance service was.

Since they gave up Scottsdale almost two years ago, Paradise Valley must have been a type of isolated island operation for them. I'm not surprised they dropped it, or was this initiated by the people in Paradise Valley?

I'm heading for Pheonix in Apr for the race. I heard somewhere that the Phoenix FD was still using conventional and not the trunked system due to possible safety issues. is this still the case, or have they moved onto the trunked system?

Although you can hear some fire comm's on the trunked system, (main Ch I believe?) Phx has not migrated over to it officially and will not for quite a while. We're talking years, unless that idea gets shelved, or, improvements are made. I personally wouldn't want my safety dependant upon the current quality.

I believe Scottsdale's are 601-608.

I'd imagine Phoenix will keep adding up their numbers. I believe they're have around 50 stations so any new ones would be 51,52,53,54,55 ect.
